On today’s inspection, this shake roof still has charm, but the shakes are heavily deteriorated and we can see through to the underlayment in multiple areas. That means the roof system is at the end of its service life and no longer providing the protection it was designed for.

When cedar shake reaches this stage, homeowners can face:
